I am interested in attending a meditation. I have never been before and have limited experience. I would appreciate any information you would provide. I wanted to know in particular if the Saturday morning meditations are 3 consecutive sessions meant as one continuous activity or if it is optional to participate in one of the three. I don’t know that I could sit for an hour or more at this point.

      Hi Evangeline,

Thanks for your interest. The sitting periods are 25 minutes per period, alternated with walking meditation, about 5 minutes. So no longer than 25 minutes. Hope this helps, and feel free to call the phone number above for more info!

    The Path
    (Keith Law)

    Someone once said to me
    that nothing stays forever
No state of mind, stays good or bad
but it could, if we were together

    Someone once said to me
have you seen the deep insight
life is endless, make it right
things will change throughout your life

    Chorus
I’d like to take you with me now
and I hope that it will last
I’d like to take you along a road
    and it’s called the path
I’d like to take you with me now
so don’t think about the past
I’d like to take you along a road
    and it’s called the path
    and it’s called the path

    Someone once said to me
    make the right decision
I said that I can only tell
when I know I have the wisdom

    Someone once said to me
    you can have enlightenment
    Nirvana is where we step
    when it’s like deep meditation

    Chorus
I’d like to take you with me now
and I hope that it will last
I’d like to take you along a road
    and it’s called the path
I’d like to take you with me now
so don’t think about the past
I’d like to take you along a road
    and it’s called the path
    and it’s called the path
    yes, it’s called the path

Hello, I was coming to your Sat sit for the 1st time, and called ahead and spoke with the contact. I was driving from about 40 miles away. I was looking forward to it. However, and unfortunately, I got lost and was about 10 minutes late. I also did err in that I did not call before then to say I was late; I left a message at a few minutes after 8. For this, I apologize because I should have pulled over and called before 8am. However, I said I would be there, on the phone and again in my phone message , and no one came down to the street after the first 20 minute period to see if I was there. It would have been better to be up front and let me know when I called that, if I was late, to skip it. I waited from 8:15 to 8:40, but no sign of a sangha member. Further, I left another phone message at 8:40 before I left saying I was leaving and, I don’t know what I expected, but no one has called me back. I suppose a lot of people say they will be there and don’t show up, but still, given your location, and the constraints, and that there is no sign, and that no one comes downstairs at all, was a bit unwelcoming-feeling. I did make use of the sunny morning to kinhin in front till 8:40 and, if I can get the car again, I would like to try again ext weekend for zazenkai. But I think it would have been best to let me know that, if I was late for any reason, I would not be allowed to attend. Thank you for your consideration, Rhonda

Hi, I will be there this Saturday for Zazenkai. I rented a car. Or am. And since I know now where I’m going, I should be there on time. Please look out for me. 🙂

Hi Jack, my name is Stevie Romero (despite the fact that ” Stevie ” brings to most of society the mental image of a man, I am actually a 28 year old female who is excited about the prospect of a zen group here in good old Spokane. I would like to discuss with you the process regarding attending my very first sitting with you, and have therefore provided all the contact info necessary for us to set up our initial meeting; I look forward to being welcomed in your group!!! Expect a call from me tomorrow sometime during the day. – Stevie
