Zen Retreats

Twice a year, in the spring and fall, we hold three- or four-day retreats that may be attended either in-person or online via Zoom. The schedule includes zazen (formal meditation practice), ;kinhin (walking meditation), teisho (talks by the teacher).

Steep Mountain Retreat

March 8-12, 2023

Retreat schedule

We will offer the Steep Mountain Retreat Wednesday, March 8, through mid-day Sunday, March 12.

Our teacher, Jack Duffy Roshi, will lead the retreat. He will deliver teishos Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons, and will hold dukosan for full-time participants Thursday through Sunday.

Area residents are encouraged to join us for the initial in-person portion of the sit, Wednesday-Friday, at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Spokane. On Saturday and Sunday, the in-person sit will relocate to our zendo in downtown Spokane.

Dukosan will be held in separate, private rooms at each location.

If you plan to attend online, we will email you the Zoom link before the retreat starts.
